I live on Lake St-Clair. I am under pressure from my neighbourgs to ''clean up'' my beach. By cleaning up they mean removing all traces of vegetation.

I do clean up in the sense that I remove some of the materials that wash up on shore, but not all. I am careful not to remove the milkweed for instance and other plants that flower in the fall. I try to keep a natural look as opposed to a hotel beach front.

During the week-end they will ''roto-till'' their beach and would wish me to do the same. Here is a photo of the grass ''weeds'' that they would wish me to remove. Can you help me identify them so that I can refer to them by their name as opposed to by category (i.e.''weed'', according to them!)?
