should i wait to cut up a fallen tree?

Was wondering if it is better to cut up a fallen tree while it is still freshly fallen or to wait till it has time to dry out? to me seems the longer it sits, the more brittle it would be, then being easier to cut up. But i am just not sure. Its a pine tree by the way. thanks

If it's not in the way / killing another plant, I leave them to dry out. not only is it easier to cut, but its a lot lighter also.

Yes, ...or even leave it alone if not in your way in the bush, let it rot,...good nutrient for other trees.
