Is this a White Hawk?

I saw this white bird swoop in to my backyard from the dense woods behind me this morning. Is it a Hawk? If so, is it rare? looks like a Baby though.

This is a Rock Dove. Notice the beak, it is not curved like that of a hawk/raptor.
Rock Doves come in many colors but usually the ones that are more common are grayish. Some folks call them "Pigeons".

So sorry to hear about your hen. If it makes any difference, you may have saved some of mine from the same fate. I hadn't thought about cover for them, they have a large run with just the coop to run to. There are several trees for shade but I plan to make them some kind of cover now. Last fall I had heard a commotion and when I looked out there two hawks had basically flown into another part of the fence away from the chickens (we have a large fenced area, 7' where the previous owners raised emu). It appeared to me that they were trying to fight or mate and basically fell out of the sky, LOL. They went on their way but it was a little too close for comfort. I've also noted an increase in the predator population, I guess they are getting hungry or gearing up for spring litters or something. Lori

nice choice! I've got a huge temple goddess that I'll be cutting down in a few weeks that I can send you some good cuttings of. she's one of my favorites, I love the perfectly reflexed tendrils on every bloom and lovely light citrus fragrance, and I think she's the heaviest and most reliable bloomer I've got, too. so I love sharing her :) I'd need reimbursement for postage though as I just had to pay a $400 delinquent electric bill that was dumped on me by someone who simply didn't feel like paying anymore, a week after my boy was in a serious car accident that totaled the 88 accord that we share, and I don't even have a job right now. great times, heh. also let me know if you're searching for any other brugs, I have maybe a dozen and a half that I'll be cutting back. you can email me at tehriaz@gmail_DOT_com. Do hawks hie from other hawks?

Its sounds like you probably have a pair of Red tails and probably a sharpie or Coopers Hawk. In general, Hawks don't prey on other healthy adult Hawks. Larger Hawks will attack the nests of smaller hawks. About the only exception is probably a large Goshawk would have smaller Hawks on the menu and be able to catch them. But in your case, a Red tail trying to catch a Sharpie is like a Suburban trying to catch a Corvette. In one of the few studies I've seen, the highest Sharpie mortality was from owl predation, which leads them to roost in dense cover. Your probably just seeing an increase in raptor activity as Hawks begin pairing up and will start nesting in a few weeks.

Look in the center for it. I think it might be a juvenile Cooper's Hawk but not sure.

This is definitely a "fancy pigeon." Possibly a "show racer." It looks like it has a band on its left foot. If you can coax it into a cage with food, you should contact the owner, based on the band. Wherever in the word you are, get hold of the local pigeon fanciers club. They can help.
