You make a strong case and could very well be right. It wouldn't be the first time I tried something because I REALLY wanted it to work. I have been watching this post and am just disgusted! Ron, I hope you not only frighten them, but find out who they are so they don't go down to your neighbor and steel from them. This person-or people are taking far to much from your yard to be just one 'gardener' it has to be someone who needs many plants, and they can not be just doing it to you. In otherwords, someone is selling your plants and whoever it is needs to be outed to your area. This is wrong and they need to be punished, not just frightened off. I feel so bad for you-I had this happen to me twice-but I caught them and it was teenagers getting the 'newbie' in the neighborhood. The police were called and took care of it after that :o) They don't do it to anyone anymore I am guessing. LOL ~Robbi

Hi, I know this post is old, but i came across it looking for another bird sound and had to reply because I'm pretty sure I know exactly what the noise is. I'm surprised nobody else has posted this. Southern Flying Squirrels. http://www.wildlifeofct.com/southern%20flying%20squirrel.html I live in Orlando and they're everywhere, yet nobody knows they're around because they come out at exactly dusk, party all night, and are in bed before you wake up. But if you happen to have a window right outside a tree they live in, they'll keep you up for hours. I had this problem in my old house. I have them living in my yard now as well, but fortunately their tree is on the other side of the house. Grab a flash light and hang out and look for them. I just realized I didn't post the Crab Louie recipe but I halved this one and changed lemon for lime as that's what's on our tree and added avocado and hard boiled egg on the plate and in the dressing as well as black, not green olives. The sauce was very rich but good, and if I make this again I need a source of fresh, lump crab which is not still inside the shell , because we don't get the right kind of crab here and it's a very messy job to find the meat LOL. CRAB LOUIE - epicurious yield: Makes 4 main-course servings active time: 20 minutes total time: 30 minutes For dressing * 1 cup mayonnaise * 1/4 cup ketchup-based chili sauce * 1/4 cup minced scallion * 2 tablespoons minced green olives * 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice * 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce * 1 teaspoon bottled horseradish * Salt and pepper to taste * 1 1/2 lb jumbo lump crabmeat * Iceberg lettuce, shredded * Capers * Tomato wedges * Hard-boiled egg * Lemon Make dressing: Whisk together mayonnaise, chili sauce, scallion, green olives, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, bottled horseradish, and salt and pepper to taste.
