R Don't worry -Those are no spider eggs... But soil fungus indicating too much organic matter (looks like you used mostly bark?) that is decaying as Paul said. I would suggest adding lots of grit and perlite or pumice if available...better for plant (and you :)

My orange ones multiply but not in a bad way just enough to share with people. I also have red and wish it would spread but it doesn't. Going to move it to better dirt. I am a horse trainer and breeder so I use lots of composted manure. The weeds love it but so do the flowers and it makes my soil so nice weeds pull so easily.
