Sure looks like a spider, to me!

Yes, it does look like a spider, although it has it's legs all out in front like a squid. It's also very tiny. If a spider, what kind?

I'd say that it's one of the many jumping spiders. They range from small to very small, always humerous little rascals.

Look up (Google) 'gray jumping spider' and I think that you'll find your special critter.

Of course, spiders are beneficial. Adult insects usually have 6 legs, by the way. And the beneficial ones have a vast assortment of appearances. You can count on spiders having 8 legs.
