Please identify pods

Here is a post I've made in other forums. See link for description and pictures.

I'm trying to positively identify some egg pods that are in my live oak tree. I would like to know what they are before I destroy them. I do not want bad bugs.

Majority opinion on other forums is spider egg sacs.

Larry Gene, thank you for replying. Are there any ideas among the members this group what kind of spider it might be and why so many egg sacs in one place? Any opinions on if the spiders are likely to be pests in any way?

I don't know much about spiders; it does seem odd that there are so many sacs on one plant, the only time I have seen such a concentration is in a crawlspace.

From those sacs, if spiders, the only pest problem would be excessive webbing in the yard. Likely only 1 in 100 or fewer of the hatchlings would get to full size.

The small sacs around here that hatch 1000's of spiders only turn into a few dozen web weavers.

I would keep a daily eye on the situation and if what hatches out of the first sac seems to be a problem, discard or relocate the other sacs.
