Leafhopper - there are a number of species that mimic thorns on a plant.

They are more commonly known as treehoppers. Try 2 Google image searches, one for leafhopper and one for treehopper. The treehopper images will look like the above pictured insect.

Treehoppers and leafhoppers are in the same insect Order, but in different Families.

The thorn part is not a snout or smelling organ, but part of the thorax.

Thank you, Larry. With he leaf hopper lead, I found treehoppers. I believe it might be a Two-Marked Treehopper (Enchenopa binotata).

Several Enchenopa species look very similar, but E. binotata seems to be pretty common for this genus, so you are likely right.
