My husband and I are planning on leaving in the middle of August for Canada entering through Idaho. We have a 27' fifth-wheel and prefer "dry" camping since we are fully contained. Anyone out there know of good dry camping provincial parks in eastern B.C. or Alberta? We do not usually have an itinerary when we travel, depend upon the good folks up there to guide us to great spots and have never been disappointed. I thought I would try this site for information. Thanks.

Here's a tip!! If ya drink beer, take in a supply-the beer stores are far apart in the boondocks! At least they were when we camped in Ontario! The provincial parks were o.k. We stayed at Ipperwash one time, on Lake Huron, if my memory tells me correctly! Can't remember where else we camped! Rustyj

I live in Alberta and I think the nices campsite I have ever been to is Spray Lakes. It is up a mountain just outside of Canmore, Alberta. The camping is beside the lake with mountains on the other side of the lake and is like a post card. It is a bit of a drive down a narrow road but well worth it. Canmore is just outside of Banff National Park which is also a wonderful place to visit.

Have to agree Canmore is wonderful, stayed there last summer. (did not camp as we flew to Seattle for a wedding and then drove up and through the Rockies, ending up in Calgary before heading back home) Just loved the western provinces. That whole area from Hinton, Jasper, down to Banff and Canmore is beautiful.
