Best Camping Areas

Hi there. Just joined the forum and thought I might get some good advice? I'm a single woman (60'ish)who will be taking off on a tent/car camping trip alone on July 5th. Love camping, but no one able to go, so I'm on my own! Just not sure where I should go. I live in Seattle and plan on going anywhere from 500 to 2000 miles. No hurry. But I must head for better weather; I need sunshine! But I like forests and trees and fresh water, especially creeks and small rivers and wooded camping, but sunshine and warmth! Only plan on staying any one place a day or two.
Any suggestions (bearing in mind I'm a single woman and not at all a "scaredy cat" but would rather be safe than sorry, within reason!!! After all, this should be some kind of adventure for me, right?
Any advice?

RE: Best Camping Areas

I have no answers for you since I live in central Georgia but I would love to do what you are doing. In our area state parks are safe and we often see ladies traveling alone there. Try state parks first and feel your way out from there as you get more comfortable with what you are doing.

Have a great time!

RE: Best Camping Areas

i live in texas but i've been to the seattle area many times. i know this is a little late but Mt. Ranier has some great camping spots as well as up around whidbey island (not sure on the spelling). Mt. Baker is nice i hear too.

there's not too many places in Washinton State that are bad for camping to be honest with you.

i hope you venture out again!
