 o
brown bird with red patch at back side of neck?

I hope one of you can help me identify this bird.
It is a brown bird, about the same size as a dove, with a red patch, somewhat crescent shaped red patch on the back of the neck right at the base of the neck. There are no other red markings and it has a slightly needle shaped bill.

I have searched and searched the internet and I cannot find a bird that looked like this. There were at least three in my yard the other day eating berries from the dogwood trees. I have never had this bird in my yard before - I'm in South Carolina. Any info would be appreciated.
