Need a location and date

Appalachian Mountains about mid point.
Found the poor bird about a week ago.

Did you happen to view the underside?

unfortunately i didn't get any more pics.
The bird is in his/her final resting place, and i wont disturb that.
If you had to guess, what would be your best guess ?

Looks like a young starling.

It's tough to tell what this bird is since it is in bad shape and very little of it is viewable. However, I can rule out European Starling based on the length of the tail and pinkness of the bill.

Given the location and field marks available (longish, reddish brown tail and what I can see of the bill), I cannot rule out Hermit Thrush. But I'd need to see the underside to tell.

Looks like a young House Wren to me given the color, shape of the tail and wings, and from what I can tell of the head shape and beak.
