Black Capped Chickadee eggs in the nest

There are now eggs in the nest. I don't know what the nesting behavior is but I'm a little concerned that there is only one adult around. I haven't seen the two at the same time for a couple of days.

Here is a link that might be useful: Chickadee eggs in nest video

Eight eggs? That little bird laid eight eggs?

I just checked the Birds of North America online site (subscription site). They say that only the female incubates the eggs, but the male brings her food while she's incubating. They sometimes leave together to forage.

I'm sure someone here knows more about chickadees nesting than I do.

I have a small basket hanging on a hook on my covered porch. Usually, Carolina wrens nest in it. But the other day I saw a chickadee fly out of it. I want to take it down and look into it and see if there are eggs. Will that scare her away? It's kinda neat to see a different bird nesting there for a change!

I have several old, small baskets and didn't know what to use them I've hung them around for birds.
