Warning: some may find this somewhat disturbing.Dead bird & snake

I found this bird and snake spine in my back yard Saturday. If you look closely you can see the skin of the snake (appears as a string) going under the birds wing. What you cannot see is the skin is actually in the birds mount. I guess the bird was eating the snake and choked or was poisoned???

Anyone know what kind of bird this is. I'm thinking it may be a hawk.

Thanks,

Adam

Look at the legs and beak ... if the feet have talons (big, strong and sharp clews) and the beak is hooked and pointy, it's a raptor of some sort.

And it very well may have choked on the snake.

Looks like a baby raptor of some sort....that was brought a snake and subsequently fell out of the nest. Perhaps the snake wasn't dead...or maybe the nestlings fought...
