Can someone help me me ID this birdsong?

Hi,

I'm trying to identify this birdsong from the woods surrounding the building where I work. I've never seen the bird, but I hear it calling fairly often (it started around February) and I'd love to know what it is. It's not a call I'm familiar with and so far I've had no success in trying to figure it out with Google and field guides.

Link

Location is central New Jersey, USA.

Thanks very much for any help.

No idea why it says invalid image, it's a link to a sound file - try this?

No doesn't work for me either. Maybe others can get it.But since I live in N Alberta I probably mite never have heard it anyways.

Link does work for me but like beegod said, it doesn't sound like one of our birds,...a very short sound!

It sounds in a way similar to a chickadee to me - a two-note, descending melody - but distinct enough that I can't possibly see that it could be one unless I've got mutant chickadees in the woods at work.

I have a hard time hearing high sounds anymore but if I am hearing it right it sounds like it may be an American Pipit. they may be migrating through your area now.

It's a black capped chickadee.
