House Sparrows

In the past couple months my feeders have become completely dominated by house sparrows.
IâÂÂve been feeding birds in my yard for 30 years and never had this problem before. There have always been house sparrows, but they were always under control. Now there are so many of them that I rarely see any other birds, and when a Cardinal or Chicadee or even a Woodpecker comes along the house sparrows attack them. I have read up on ways to control them and I think I have tried everything, and nothing has worked for me. IâÂÂd like to hear from someone who has had success with this problem. IâÂÂll use any solution that works, humane or otherwise, including shooting them with a machine gun, but I want a solution that works only on the house sparrows and not the other birds (well, if it kills starlings, all the better, but I donâÂÂt have nearly as bad a problem with them). Thank!
