Need help with bird I.D

This bird was on my neighbor's front lawn today. It is a very large bird.

An Accipiter such as a Cooper's hawk. If there is a bird feeder nearby it is looking for birds to feed on - songbirds aren't the only birds bird feeders feed.

Juvenile Cooper's hawk ... the "teardrop" feathers on the chest are the key.

Adults have crosswise rusty barring.

Sharp-shinned hawks are smaller with a squared-off, strongly banded tail.

Bird feeders create a buffet for predators as well as the seed eaters. And a hawk's gotta eat. Make them work harder.

Make sure the birds have plenty of close bushes to hide in whilke waioting and after feeding or bathing.

Put the feeders where a predator can't sit on a nearby power line or branch and swoop down. Give the feeder some overhead screening. from a branch or arbor.

Good suggestions. Also, this hawk could be in the area due to the rabbit population. My neighbor said she saw him fly away with a baby rabbit. Seems the birds know he's in the area because I don't see them linguering around anymore.
