In Spanish it's called a campamocha. Ranchers say that is a cow eats one, it will get a fever and possibly die. They also say if you put your finger in front of it and move it side to side, it's head will follow your finger. Any idea what this campamocha is in english? Mantis? Walking stick?

Hey Marc,
I believe they are talking about a Praying Mantis...I just found two here in Alabama at my work... I think they are kinda cute and are very beneficial in a garden b/c they eat a lot of bugs.. They are just not so welcome in my Butterfly-Garden, since they also prey on caterpillars and Butterflies and Moth..
