A Brown Pelican Stretch and Yawn

corunum z6 CTMarch 23, 2013

This fellow was resting on a pier pole at Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge, South Carolina last weekend. Thought other bird lovers might like to see a huge yawn. I think he is an adult-breeding Brown Pelican. (sorry about so many photos, but the sequence shows it all)

He seemed so happy.

Ah, the memory of a superb meal - time for a nap to digest. Delightful series!
